Starting March 20, DC’s event calendar will be booked with parades, races and parties for the weeks-long National Cherry Blossom Festival. Here are a few events you won’t want to miss:
• Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run & 5K Run-Walk (April 7): Sign up or watch runners race for $80,000 in prize money.
• Newseum Nights: In Bloom (April 12): Enjoy Asian dishes and drinks, a traditional Japanese drum performance and personalized haikus.
• Anacostia River Festival (April 14): Art projects, kayaking/canoeing and a bike parade to celebrate the Anacostia River and the 100th birthday of Anacostia Park.
