It might not have Bourbon Street, but DC has no shortage of ways to celebrate Fat Tuesday. Here are our top picks:

• Mardi Gras at District Wharf: Start the celebration early on Saturday with a waterfront parade featuring a brass band, festive floats and bead tossing. Stay for the dance party and fireworks finale. March 2, 2–6 p.m.
