Yesterday was the grand opening of Carving Room’s sister restaurant, CR NoMa. The new Mediterranean spot serves deli classics, Moroccan-inspired dishes and imported fried Moroccan “cigars.”

On June 10, Arlington is getting a new bakery/sweets shop, Sidekick, serving “boundary-pushing baked goods,” frozen treats and coffee/tea.

Xiquet, a new Spanish restaurant specializing in paella, isn’t opening until August, but with a menu created by the the paella competition-winning Chef Danny Lledó, it’s sure to be worth the wait. In addition to four to six types of paella, the menu will include suckling pig, steaks and seafood.
