It’s been a few years since anyone used it, and it’s definitely been longer since anyone called it “beautiful,” but Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium will forever be an indelible part of Washington D.C. history.
RFK hosted multiple professional and college football teams, two different eras of Major League Baseball teams in D.C., more than a half-dozen professional soccer teams, FIFA World Cup and Olympic soccer matches and even a Grand Prix (though it was maligned), not to mention dozens of concerts.
The structure will be demolished starting later this year. But the memories? Those will last forever.
