Michelin Star Honors Reach Washington

by Michael Polzella

Late in 2016, the famed Michelin Star list finally acknowledged the best of Washington’s restaurants.

But with 12 restaurants receiving the coveted Michelin Star (three receiving two stars; none receiving three), Washington is still outpaced by New York (77), San Francisco (34) and Chicago (26) in Michelin acclaim. Some are the staple favorites you’d expect, while others are lesser-known newcomers.

Two stars (“excellent cooking, worth a detour”): Inn at Little Washington; Minibar; Pineapple & Pearls.

One star (“a very good restaurant in its category”): Blue Duck Tavern; The Dabney; Fiola; Kinship; Masseria; Plume; Rose’s Luxury; Sushi Taro; Tail Up Goat.
