While giving back to the community shouldn’t be just a once-a-year occurrence, Thanksgiving is the perfect reminder to remember those in need. Here are some volunteer opportunities happening on and around the holiday:
• So Others May Eat (SOME): Throughout the month, help prepare meals and volunteer at the Thanksgiving Day 5K Trot for Hunger.
• Bread for the City: Volunteers are needed to prepare and deliver turkey meals to low-income families.
• Food & Friends: Help this organization provide meals to people with life-challenging diseases, or volunteer at the Slice of Life pie fundraising event on Nov. 26.

Thank you so much for including Bread for the City! We certainly love to see new volunteers, and they can sign up at breadforthecity.org/volunteer. Click the button that says, “I’m Ready to Serve,” then select the center where you prefer to volunteer for Holiday Helpings or another activity. We don’t offer delivery services to our clients at this time, but we need lots of help in the food pantry, clothing room, and baby boutique! Hope to see you!
