Arlington County encourages biking

by The 100 Companies

With more options like Capital Bikeshare and dockless bicycles and scooters popping up over the past year, Arlington has been seeing an increase in biking. In response, Arlington County just approved a plan that will further support this means of transportation.

The new plan aims to improve existing bikeways by adding new bikeway facilities within key paths such as Columbia Pike, Glebe Road and Lee Highway, and creating a greater separation between lanes for bicyclists and drivers.

Bicyclists will also feel safer, thanks to increased safety education, stricter enforcement of traffic laws and more secure bicycle parking in new developments.
