Union Market’s new rooftop tennis stadium

by The 100 Companies

News broke this month that DC’s professional tennis team, the Kastles, will be playing this season on the roof of Union Market.

When the new rooftop tennis stadium is complete, it will hold 700 seats, including typical stadium seats, VIP tables and courtside boxes. The Kastles’ first match is set for July 15, featuring Maryland native Frances Tiafoe.

Although the pop-up stadium is currently temporary, Union Market’s developer EDENS hopes to “permanently turn the roof into an 8,000-square-foot park and entertainment venue that would host future Kastles seasons, as well as a variety of other programming.”
