FFA – probably the most influential organization of my entire life. While I was still in grade school, my future FFA advisor, Dan Bock, came to visit me and my parents.
As we sat around the farmhouse kitchen table, I can remember Dan’s words like it was yesterday – I would be his Vocational Agriculture (VoAg) student, learn from FFA organization experiences, go on to the University of Illinois and earn an agriculture degree.
Over 50 years later, I can say it all came true – and more. I keep giving back to FFA today because I can never fully repay the gift.
