USDA: Helping the next generation of farmers

by
Young farmers

The average age of today’s farmer is 58. To keep American farms and ranches productive, we need to attract more young people into this challenging – but rewarding – field.

The Department of Agriculture (USDA) offers a broad range of loans, grants, mentoring services and teaching tools to help the next generation of farmers and ranchers feed, clothe and fuel the world. The food system has opportunities for all, including veterans, women, minorities and people with disabilities.

Beyond our online discovery tool, there are more than 2,000 USDA service centers nationwide supporting our customers. Get curious, learn more. We can help.
