Welcoming the next generation to agriculture

by
Gloria Story Dittus

You reap what you sow. You’ve heard the expression before – you get what you give. It’s a sentiment that rings especially true when examining agriculture’s future. American farmers are aging out of farming, and younger generations don’t have the necessary tools to carry on the work.

That’s where organizations like the National FFA, 4-H and MANRRS come in. They’re working to develop student leadership and career success through agricultural education. Sowing young agriculture talent prepares us for more than essential crops. It yields a stronger economy, enhanced national security and an abundance of jobs. It reaps a stronger America.
