A broken system

broken system

The 2018 midterm elections may very well change the balance of power in Congress, but the slow decline in American confidence toward the political, media and the business establishment will continue.

Over the last 40 years, a series of small but very consequential changes to American society have left most Americans feeling like the system is hopelessly rigged in favor of the elites. Donald Trump’s election is a manifestation of this very trend. A Democratic wave, if it materializes, might be another byproduct.

Neither are actually fixing the real problem, which is the underlying belief that the system is broken.
