What you’re reading looks very different from my initial draft. I had planned on analyzing the prospects for compromise in the 115th Congress, but like many Americans, woke up November 9th consumed by the question of how so many of us failed to foresee how strongly voters’ distrust of institutions would translate to the ballot boxes.
The polling scrutiny will continue, but what we know is this: Americans believe our systems are broken.
We have a responsibility – government, business, media – to work together to address issues that help make Americans’ lives better and begin to restore trust in our leaders.
