Obama-Era Energy Regulations Hinge on CRA

Hill Energy staffers are planning to use the Congressional Review Act to nix rules and regulations finalized by the administration after May 2016. Their task now: figuring where the CRA applies, and what they will have to revisit legislatively.

Hill Republicans have made their intent clear, sending letters to the heads of federal agencies urging them not to finalize any additional regulations before President Obama leaves office.

Efforts to repeal many of the Obama-era regulations in the energy space may take years and get held up in litigation, but leveraging the CRA is low-hanging fruit for the GOP.
