When the Department of Labor released the latest jobs numbers this month, many lauded the low unemployment rates since the Great Recession, while missing the far bigger story – the historically low labor participation rate.

One of the ways to fix this worsening hole in the jobs data bucket is through franchising, which has been a quiet engine powering our economy. Recognizing this contribution, President-elect Trump nominated successful business leader Andy Puzder for Labor Secretary.
