Welcoming a New Administration to Washington

by

Since arriving in Washington more than 30 years ago, I’ve seen five administrations come and go, with several inaugurations in between. The event is an inspiring one – from the historic speeches, to the crowds on the mall, to the pomp of the parades and balls.

But most compelling is our nation’s tradition of a peaceful transfer of power – and the way our city warmly welcomes each new administration. There’s much to be done – from tax reform to rebuilding our infrastructure – and as Americans and now fellow Washingtonians, I know we’re all eager to roll up our sleeves and work together.
