Spotlight on Washington’s Infrastructure

As the nation’s lawmakers debate America’s infrastructure solutions, they’ll be traveling on, and using, crumbling infrastructure as they do.

The District’s last infrastructure report card from the American Society of Civil Engineers shows a smattering of “poor” or “mediocre” grades (Transit, Roads, and our two miles of Levees received a “D,” “D+,” and “D-,” respectively, while Waste Water, Solid Waste, Public Schools, Public Parks, Energy, and Drinking Water received various “C’s”.)

But it’s not all bad. Former Vice President and Amtrak connoisseur Joe Biden would be proud to know Washington’s Rail system came in atop the list with a B-.
