Wheat Growers: Farm Bill Must Provide Safety Net to Weather Difficult Conditions

The need for a Farm Bill safety net and effective crop insurance cost-share program are now more important than ever. Beyond the current low wheat prices (expected for the foreseeable future), farmers face many challenges that are disease, pest, weather, and market-related.

Wheat farmers in particular deal with many issues that can affect quality and their ability to market crops. Most years there are wheat farmers experiencing some sort of issue like vomitoxin or low falling numbers.

Farmers across the country are facing tough times, and the Farm Bill is absolutely critical to help weather the difficult conditions.
