Budgets, Obamacare, Infrastructure Atop States’ Agendas

While the wheels of Washington grind slowly, state governments continue to go about their business — especially where one party controls the legislature and governorship. States will be focused on budgets and tax measures to address revenue shortfalls, especially as they are faced with potential cuts in funding from Washington.

The states also may have to cope with health care costs and reimbursement issues from an Obamacare replacement. On the flip side, the possibility of a major infrastructure bill in Congress creates tremendous opportunities for states looking to make major investments in improving infrastructure, whether in highways, water systems or broadband.
