Free Online Coding Curriculum Gets Girls Programming

by Michael Polzella

Boolean Girl, a local startup, aims to close the gender gap in STEM by teaching girls to code, build, invent and animate.

We reach hundreds of girls annually through after-school classes, all-girl summer camps, workshops and events; and with our Kickstarter-backed Boolean Box, a build-it-yourself computer and electronics kit, we encourage girls to program at home.

We’re also a proud partner of the ESA Foundation and Smithsonian American Art Museum for SAAM Arcade next month, where we’ll offer our new “retro game” programming course that includes BooleanU, our free online coding curriculum, “Frogger” and “PacMan.”
