Studying Games Is Full of Opportunity and Success

by Michael Polzella

Higher Education Video Game Alliance surveys of game design programs and alumni have set a precedent toward understanding the impact of video games in higher education.

On the market, 93% of graduates find employment after one year and the average salary for a full-time position is $76,200. Alumni report high job satisfaction, with 83% describing themselves as “thriving.” On campuses, programs boast average enrollment rates for women nearly double other computer and information sciences programs.

Game programs are generators of success at universities and on the market. Supporting new programs strengthens our communities and creates jobs that stick.
