Rep. Levin: Tax Reform Should Start With Relief For Middle Class

As Republicans on the Hill seek a pivot to tax reform, they have yet to provide any meaningful details. But their basic goal is clear – provide massive new tax breaks to the wealthy. This is the wrong path for our economy, the deficit and ordinary Americans.

Democrats believe we should grow our economy from the middle out, not from the top down. This means providing tax relief for the middle class, as well as restoring fairness to the tax code. A good place to start would be bills I’ve introduced to close the carried interest loophole and curb corporate inversions.
