Nuclear Energy and Security

by

Nuclear energy provides two-thirds of America’s zero-carbon electricity. It’s integral to our electric grid’s reliability and our national security.

New York’s Indian Point nuclear plant, as I show in a recent report, helps assure electrical reliability in New York City. That’s not the message from left-leaning politicians and environmental groups, but the U.S. economy requires cheap, abundant, always-on electricity. Nuclear plants provide that.

Further, a robust domestic nuclear energy sector enhances our technological leadership and helps assure that we have enough scientists to manage our weapon stockpiles and help assure international compliance on nuclear matters.
