Standing up to Power

by

Thousands of women and men responded to our call for lawyers to protect the rights of refugees and immigrants in the wake of the travel ban. But the top ranks of the legal profession, including the courts, are still dominated by men.

Women have a history of standing up to power. We must do it for ourselves, but also for others whose rights are under threat. This past year has shown that lawyers can empower those who can not advocate for themselves.

I am proud to be a woman raising up the voices of others as well as my own.
