In the wake of the tragedy in Florida, our country must do what is necessary to keep our kids safe at school.
The bad news: There isn’t a simple solution. We cannot add or subtract guns to solve the equation. We cannot throw law enforcement, “mental health” or money at the problem.
The good news: There are SO, SO many things we can do to improve the safety of our schools. We must listen to what educators actually need and empower them with developmentally appropriate, evidence-based training in how to prevent, prepare for and respond to violence in schools.
