As Secretary of Agriculture, I am thrilled to have a whole week to celebrate the bounty of the American harvest.
For the past 45 years, National Ag Day and Week have played key roles in helping people understand where their food and fiber comes from and how important agriculture is to our national economy. Our nation’s farmers, ranchers and producers are feeding the world – and it’s important to never forget that.
Our informal motto here at USDA is, “Do right and feed everyone.” And that’s what we’re celebrating now. Our thanks to everyone who works to achieve this great mission.
