“Feeding a troubled and hungry world … ” It is a phrase I have said often over the years.
As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, I represent American farmers and ranchers who do just that. I look to them for input as the Agriculture Committee crafts a new farm bill. If we do not equip producers with tools, the risk of food insecurity – even famine – will increase dramatically.
Show me a nation that cannot feed itself, and I will show you a nation in chaos. There is no greater threat to national security than food security.
