A trade war with China means real harm to soybean farmers

I’ve grown soybeans for 47 years, and one thing I can say for certain is without export markets, my farm and community will fail.

We’re facing the imminent possibility of being a casualty in a trade war following President Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on imports from China under Section 301.

Soybeans are our country’s largest agricultural export. 1 in 3 rows produced are exported to China. We’ve worked for decades to build this vital market. Retaliation during the downturned farm economy will devastate farmers and rural communities. The administration needs to rethink these tariffs — rural America depends on it.
