When I became the Chairman of House Energy and Commerce Committee, I made it clear that our top priority as a committee is to put consumers first.

While the tech industry has created tremendous opportunities, it has also resulted in new risks and challenges to consumer protection and data privacy. That’s why we held a hearing with the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.

Americans should have the full picture of how their personal information is used online. We will continue to demand accountability and shine a light on the business practices of the tech companies that have transformed our lives.
