Purdue University OATS

Purdue University is launching a new Center for Open Agricultural Technologies and Systems (OATS) with the support of the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research and industry partners. OATS researches sensing, networking, computation, data science and analytics for application to productive and sustainable food-ag systems and fosters wide-scale innovation via open source community building.

Since the facilitation of data exchange between people, systems and projects is an essential catalyst for these activities, OATS involves industry in real-time exchange projects and will build community and momentum for scalable, distributed agricultural data processing that is readily translated to practice.

James V. Krogmeier, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Co-Director of OATS Center, Purdue University
