As Congress considers legislation to support the nation’s response to the opioid epidemic, it’s important to note that this is a local crisis – experienced in families and in communities across the country.

County governments are essential to any solution. We are the first responders; we care for victims in county hospitals and county justice systems; and county agencies place individuals on pathways to treatment and recovery.
