National Park Week is a celebration of America’s parks encouraging you to explore and create “Your Park Story.”
• Star-Spangled Banner National Historic Trail: Trace troop movements from the War of 1812 that led to the national anthem. Great activities for kids.
• Theodore Roosevelt Island: Miles of outdoor space to honor the 26th president with a memorial and guided walks.
• Rock Creek Park: The 3rd National Park in the US, there are over 1700 acres of outdoor space to explore including bridges, paved trails, a mill, fountains, and memorials.
The celebration is April 22-30 and entrance fees are waived on April 22.
