While the Trump Administration’s ever-shifting lobbying rules have had some of K Street nervous, one of the town’s top political influencers — Stewart Verdery, founder of Monument Policy Group — says not so fast:
“‘Draining the swamp’ is a great phrase, but there are going to be a lot of companies and industries trying to make sure they are not underneath the spigot. More broadly, while new rules affecting the revolving door could have real impacts on who is lobbying, until the federal government is ceding involvement in the economy, the amount of lobbying and influence activity surely will not decline.”
