Wander through Georgetown where M Street and Canal Road meet and discover a steep, narrow staircase making spines tingle for almost 50 years.
Tucked between a stone wall and a brick building, these stairs were the location of the final terrifying scene in the 1973 horror movie, “The Exorcist.” Suddenly, these ordinary stairs with their ivy-covered walls get a bit spooky, especially at night. Built in 1895, these stairs and their creepy history are now a historical landmark.
