Nuclear Energy: Influencing the World for Decades to Come

by

America invented commercial nuclear energy. The majority of power plants worldwide are based on American technologies. Our safety and nonproliferation approaches are the world’s standards.

Preserving the current reactor fleet and enabling the next generation isn’t just about producing reliable, clean baseload energy. A nuclear plant operates from 60 to 80 years. When we build a plant in another country, we guarantee decades of influence.

If our R&D leadership and commercial nuclear industry atrophy, we cede ground – and influence – to Russia and China. When it flourishes, our economy and environment benefit, and all Americans are safer and more secure.
