AG Hunter leads opioid fight

by

America is in the throes of a prescription opioid epidemic, and tragically Oklahoma is close to ground zero — costing us thousands of lives and billions of dollars. Consider: four out of five heroin users started out using prescription drugs.

Fortunately, Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter recognized this scourge when he came into office last year and quickly mobilized the Oklahoma Commission on Opioid Abuse. The commission recently released its final report with 31 recommendations designed to help reverse the nightmarish trend. Attorney General Hunter is suing the opioid manufacturers, making Oklahoma the first state to have a trial date set.
