America faces hard problems, and the only way to solve them is by making sure that everyone’s perspective is heard. That is part of what motivated me to run for Congress; at the time, my state had 18 seats in the House – and no women.
Today, Pennsylvania has four women in the House, and Congress is more diverse than it’s ever been.
There are many issues I plan to address. First, we need meaningful laws to stop gun violence, which kills 40,000 Americans each year. More broadly, we need to restore our commitment to decency, compassion and good governance.
