September brings awareness to suicide

by The 100 Companies
National Suicide Awareness Month

September is National Suicide Prevention Month which is particularly relevant this year. Before the pandemic, suicide was the 10th leading cause of death in the United States.

Though the 2020 statistics of suicides are not out yet, a survey conducted in late June by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 40% of U.S. adults are struggling with their mental health and 11% have seriously considered suicide in the past 30 days.

While physical distance may currently be necessary, maintaining social connection is more important than ever. Reach out, whether it’s to offer or to receive support.
