Fox News and CNN won the day as “Top Facebook Publishers,” generating the most activity with 6.5 million and 3.9 million engagements, respectively. Politically charged comments and witty memes stemming from fake news by lesser known publishers did not disappoint either, and are here to stay.
With the increasing popularity of social media’s live-streaming services, the inauguration indeed drew a record-breaking audience on social media, with 6.82 million unique viewers on Twitter.
