America is divided on many issues, but we can all agree on the need for real investments in our roads, bridges, airports and railways. They are falling apart.
We can spur economic growth in communities nationwide by investing in our infrastructure – but we know that public-private partnerships (P3s) are not enough to get the job done.
While they should be a part of the solution, they simply cannot be a substitute for direct federal infrastructure investment. We have a real opportunity to work in a bipartisan way to achieve something big here, but we cannot afford to stand still.
