Fighting the battle in rural America

Rural America is facing an opioid epidemic. Seventy four percent of farmers and farm workers say that they have been affected by opioid abuse. We may want to think drug addiction is a big city problem, but this crisis is hitting close to home.

Opioid addiction is a disease, not a moral weakness. We must help our neighbors fight this battle, rather than pointing fingers.

It is time to talk about it. That’s why the American Farm Bureau Federation and the National Farmers Union are working together to increase awareness and help folks find the hope and help they need.
