Since our nation’s founding, volunteers have helped us through our greatest challenges and triumphs. America is built on this ethos of service – the shared belief in the power of citizens to build a safer, stronger and more united country.
Today, we see this in action as Senior Corps and AmeriCorps members respond to the devastating opioid epidemic. Last year, we invested $10.5 million in grants for opioid-related work in more than 150 communities.
From serving as recovery coaches to expanding drug-abuse education and conducting drug screenings, these citizens truly exemplify the heart of what it means to be an American.
