Rural America is far too familiar with the need for increased highway safety. Treacherous conditions created by semitrucks, cars and farm equipment converging on two-lane highways have resulted in higher fatalities than in urban areas.
Unfortunately for many, high-risk roads are the only way to get to work or take their children to school. Despite dire need and grand promises, Washington Republicans have failed to deliver an actual infrastructure plan.
Democrats know Americans deserve a better deal and proposed a historic $1 trillion infrastructure package that would rebuild our world-class transportation system to ensure all Americans’ safety.
