Introducing the DRIVE-Safe Act

by
DRIVE-Safe Act

Indiana is known as the Crossroads of America due to the numerous highways that crisscross our state and the related logistics firms that rely upon a stable workforce of drivers. However, the logistics industry is faced with a growing shortage of drivers that is acutely felt in the Hoosier state.

In response, I proudly introduced the DRIVE-Safe Act to safely train the next generation truckers. This apprenticeship program trains drivers, encourages the adoption of modern-day safety technology and provides a career path for young adults who must wait to enter this labor market until they’re 21 years old.
