Growing up during the ‘70s, I was fortunate enough to experience hit movies like “Smokey and the Bandit” along with TV shows like “B. J. and the Bear.” These Hollywood hits once inspired a generation of truck drivers who knew the trucking profession was cool.
That generation is beginning to retire and a new generation is taking the driver’s seat. We are continuing to find ways to attract this next generation of hip-hop-loving, reality-TV-watching, tech-minded millennials. Trucking is an important and rewarding industry. We must make sure we are demonstrating that to the next generation.
