I’m proud to sponsor the H.R. 5358, DRIVE-Safe Act. If enacted into law, this bill would address a hole in our transportation system.
Currently, some individuals under 21 can apply for a commercial driver’s license (CDL), while some cannot transport goods across state lines. This bill permits individuals under 21 to obtain licensure, provided they satisfy additional training requirements.
It has the potential to enhance the commercial delivery apparatus. I’m proud to co-sponsor it, and I encourage my colleagues in both chambers of Congress to pass this legislation and for the president to sign it into law.
