The $43 billion a year organic industry is a bright spot in our farm economy.
Organic agriculture boosts local economies – raising household incomes, reducing poverty levels and creating long-lasting benefits for rural areas. Organic provides a profitable option to conventional farmers, a unique opportunity for aspiring farmers and healthy choices to consumers.
Organic thrives when organic’s importance to rural areas is recognized and organic reinvestment is enabled. The organic sector relies on a strong USDA program, and the Organic Trade Association will work to ensure the Farm Bill provides well-funded support for organic through USDA’s National Organic Program.
