Institutionalizing Food Waste Reduction in Hotels

by

With support from the Rockefeller Foundation, World Wildlife Fund is collaborating with AH&LA to institutionalize food waste reduction in hotels nationwide.

Food waste represents not just a waste of businesses’ money, but a waste of the energy, water, soil and wildlife habitat sacrificed to grow, store and transport that food. With its substantial food service volume and broad consumer reach, hotels are an ideal catalyst for accelerating this change.

Imagine every hotel buffet or luncheon eliminating food waste. The hotel industry is taking a leadership role by addressing food waste prevention, which ultimately benefits consumers, business and the environment.
