Folks are starting to make summer travel plans to their favorite vacation spots. And while making reservations online has become more common, so have online booking scams. These third-party websites take your money without making a reservation — leaving you without a place stay.
My legislation requires those third parties to disclose that they’re not, in fact, affiliated with the hotel they’re advertising. It also puts more power in the offices of state attorneys general to pursue these frauds on behalf of consumers. Transparency is key and protects consumers so they can enjoy their vacation without worrying about their reservations.
