National Ag Day is an educational opportunity

by
House Agriculture Committee

For generations, American farmers, ranchers, producers, processors and retailers have comprised our country’s food safety net. As a result of their efforts, we enjoy the highest quality, safest and most abundant food and fiber supply in the history of the world.

However, it’s critical we maintain reliable programs to help farmers and ranchers withstand challenges such as price volatility and inclement weather.

Our biggest hurdle in Washington today is capturing the attention of policymakers. That’s why National Ag Week is an important opportunity for us to educate consumers on the skill, planning and hard work that goes into production agriculture.

Rep. Frank Lucas, former Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee
